One thing we can learn from Eric’s story is that it’s never too late to try something new. Having been a government worker for more than 20 years, Eric felt like things had become stagnant.
After a government shutdown kept him home without pay for a few weeks, he was ready to try something new. He recently shared the story of his seller journey and how RestockPro helps him stay on top of important inventory decisions for his Amazon business.
Eric first started selling on the Amazon marketplace in 2013 and he’s never looked back. That doesn’t mean that it hasn't been without challenges. After taking a training program, he says he “got lucky.” He picked a product and found a supplier who gave him tips on how to make the product sell better. The supplier even helped him create bundles and offered customized packaging. This was especially helpful since Eric had never even shopped on the Amazon marketplace prior to becoming a seller!
Unfortunately, this first success didn’t last. Competitors copied his product and began selling it for less. After dropping his own price from $35 to $12, Eric had to accept that the situation was no longer sustainable. “It wasn’t making any money anymore, and I had to figure out how to sell something different,” he said.
After regrouping and finding another product, Eric realized that he was struggling to keep items in stock. As a business owner, he was honest with himself about an area where he could use more support. “I was really bad at predicting when things were going to run out or when to place an order based on how long it took to get here,” he explained.
Using spreadsheets required “ridiculous calculations” and no matter what he tried, he said he struggled to get it right. “There was always something I couldn’t anticipate.” Fortunately, someone suggested he give RestockPro a try. He quickly discovered that, with minimal effort, he could easily see “what I’ve got in stock, what needs to be reordered, what’s selling, what’s making me money, and what’s not making me money.”
As Eric discovered, it can be difficult and time-consuming to keep track of all of the elements involved with FBA inventory management. RestockPro saves time and money by ensuring that he has what he needs when he needs it.
The inventory management tool includes inventory forecasting, which allows Amazon sellers to visualize their inventory, focus on top sellers, and anticipate demand. The automated restocking suggestions take the guesswork out of the process, which gives business owners more control and confidence in their inventory management decisions.
RestockPro puts you in the driver’s seat. You will be able to monitor sales velocity, competitive listings, and expected margins effortlessly. The software will show you alerts to update you on your inventory status while making recommendations. You’ll also save time by having RestockPro create purchase orders for your suppliers and inbound shipments to the Amazon fulfillment centers. It’s like having a personal assistant, but better!
